Your First Garden in New England: Start This Fall
Start a New England garden this fall: map your sun, plant garlic in October, test your soil, and plan a small first season.
S Start with one pot of herbs. I'll help you keep it alive, then grow from there.
I killed every houseplant I owned in my twenties. When we moved to Brookline and inherited a neglected backyard, I decided to learn properly, one season at a time. Now I grow tomatoes, beans, herbs, and more dahlias than I need, and I’ve made just about every beginner mistake along the way.
I help people start small and succeed early: choosing what to grow in New England’s short season, starting seeds indoors in late winter, container gardening for apartments, and figuring out why the leaves are turning yellow. Text me photos of your plants any time, and on our calls we’ll make a simple plan for the next few weeks.
15 minutes. Tell me where you are, I'll tell you what I'd do.
